REGISTRATION
According to the existing law all foreign citizens entering Russia must register their visa within three days.
If you have a multy-entrance visa you must register your visa every time you enter Russia.

There are several ways to register your visa.

When staying in a hotel your visa will be registered in a passport office of the hotel the same day for the period of staying.
When staying in a private appartment your visa must be registered at the local Office of Migration Service. In this case your apartment owner must apply for your visa registration from a Post Office or in person to an office of Migration Service not late than 3 days after your arrival.
Your business visa also may be registered with a russian company which is put in your visa, or some other company. This company shall apply for your registration not late than 3 days after you arrival.
Please, be aware of the local property of registration. That means that your registration is valid ONLY within the region you are staying. And if you go from Moscow to other city you must register your visa in that other city.
But current law commits you to deregister and return your card registration to the place of receipt. If not a penalty will be imposed on your registrator.
And to register in other city, and many times at the airport when leaving Russia you must prove that you have completed the registtration law.
That is why we recommend you have a copy of your registration card.

Terms of registration

If staying in a hotel you wil get your registration only for the period of paid days.
In other cases the maximum period of registration will not exceed 90 days if your visa does not expire before.
For working visa the terms of registration may be untill the visa expires.
